As of 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 19, 548 cases of COVID-19 have been reported among Union County residents. In the past week (since Oct. 12), 44 new cases, 2 new hospitalizations and 1 new death have been reported. With the exception of one week, 30 or more new cases and at least one additional hospitalization (by report date) has been reported each week since Sept. 14. The number of individuals currently infectious and in isolation has remained above 50 individuals since Oct. 12. Almost all of the disease activity is occurring in our community at large, as only three of the 548 cumulative cases in Union County have been residents of long-term care facilities.
