Holiday COVID Test Kit Distribution is Dec. 15

In advance of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Union County Health Department is offering a free COVID test kit distribution on Dec. 15. Reserve your kits online at UnionCountyCOVID.org and pick up on Dec. 15 from 8am-4pm at the Health Department. You can reserve as many kits as you need for your holiday season*. The test kits have an August 2024 expiration date. You can pick up kits for multiple households.  If you can’t make it on Dec. 15, stop by Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm and pick up test kits at your convenience.

* We reserve the right to implement a limit should demand exceed supply.

Hurry, Community Survey Closes Soon

The community survey closes Dec. 15. If you haven’t already, please click here to take the survey. The survey is open to Union County residents age 18 and older. We have received about 320 responses so far. We need about 80 more. We especially need more responses from men, people age 18-29 (men or women), and residents from all zip codes within Union County. The survey is estimated to take about 20 minutes to complete. The survey asks about a wide array of factors that influence health and health conditions such as diet, exercise, risk behaviors, mental health, substance abuse, health insurance, healthcare, and housing.

Richwood Immunization Clinic on Saturday, Dec. 16

The Union County Health Department is headed back to the Richwood-North Union Library on Dec. 16 from 11am-2pm to offer child and adult immunizations. Please call (937) 645-2058 to make an appointment. Please request the Richwood location when making the appointment. Walk-ins are welcome as resources allow, but an appointment ensures we have the vaccines you need. Ages 6 months and older are welcome. Flu shots, updated COVID vaccine (as inventory allows), and most other routine child and adult immunizations will also be available for those with appointments. We do not currently have RSV vaccines.

We’re Re-Accredited!

We are excited to announce the Union County Health Department was re-accredited in November 2023 by the National Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). UCHD earned initial accreditation in 2017.  Re-accreditation involved more than six months of concentrated effort from staff across all divisions, compiling hundreds of documents and hosting a site visit to demonstrate our agency’s capabilities within 10 domains. For residents of Union County, accreditation by PHAB signifies our health district is meeting or exceeding a common set of national standards; has the capacity to provide core public health services; and is continually striving to improve service, value and accountability to its community.
