With heavy hearts, we share that an eighth COVID-19 related death has been reported among Union County residents. The individual was in the age 60-69 age range. An additional 159 Union County residents have had a newly reported COVID-19 infection, including 24 new hospitalizations, during the previous 11 days (Nov. 11 to Nov. 22). Roughly 5% of Union County residents with a reported COVID-19 infection have experienced severe illness resulting in hospitalization or death. We continue to ask all residents to use caution this Thanksgiving. We are urging residents to celebrate small and limit their gatherings. If you plan to host or attend a gathering, please limit your guest list, try to hold your celebration outside, wear masks, try to distance from others in your home, and avoid gathering in small indoor areas.

As we have moved into this new phase of the pandemic, with very sudden and high levels of disease activity impacting almost every facet of our community, please see the video messages below from Union County Commissioner Charles Hall and wife Peggy and Union County Commissioner Chris Schmenk.
