We’re Yellow: Today, the Ohio Public Health Alert for Union County was downgraded to a level 1 alert. Per the state data, Union County is now below trigger thresholds in six of the seven indicators over recent weeks. We declined in our 7-day new case average and our new cases per capita rate for the previous two weeks. We continued to stay below thresholds for illness requiring medical care. The one indicator we are continuing to meet is that the vast majority of new cases continue to be in non-congregate settings. Union County Case Count: The Union County Health Department is reporting 226 cumulative cases of COVID-19 as of Aug. 06.183 cases are lab confirmed, 24 are probable cases per CDC definition, 16 are positive antibody tests for past infection and 3 are positive antigen tests indicating current infection. There are 29 individuals considered actively ill and in isolation. 196 individuals have been released from isolation. 1 death has been reported. The cumulative rate of COVID cases for Union County is 432 per 100,000 residents. The median age is 39.5 with an average age of 40. Hospitalization has been required for 15 individuals during the course of their illness. 14 individuals have been asymptomatic.
