The FDA has issued an Emergency Use Authorization for administration of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for the 12-15 year old age group. The next step in the approval process is for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to review the data and make recommendations on the use of the vaccine in this age group. ACIP is scheduled to meet this Wednesday. Vaccination of 12-15 year old individuals cannot begin until CDC receives and accepts the ACIP recommendations. We will share more information as we learn more.
